Dr Tony Gianduzzo (your Urologist) is committed to the wellbeing of practice staff and patients during the current COVID-19 situation, which is presenting unprecedented challenges daily. We are taking action in line with all Government and Health Authority recommendations to ensure we keep our patients and staff safe.
Your next appointment with Dr Gianduzzo will be via Video/Phone link if possible and medically appropriate. Our staff will call you by phone a couple of days before your next visit to establish the method of communication that you can use. There will be a few different options available. Elderly patients who do not have smartphones or computers will also be able to partake in these consultations at home.
Medicare has strict guidelines concerning billing of these types of consultations which must fit a specific set of rules. Most patients will fit into one of “rules”. These claims will be Bulk Billed, and the patient will have nothing to pay on the day of your video/phone consultation.
Should a patient not fit into the Medicare “rules” there will be a set fee of $80 for a new patient and $40 for a returning patient. These fees are not rebateable by Medicare as the charge is near the standard gap that applies when attending the rooms in person.
Our practice is supporting social distancing without compromising the care of our patients. To support this, we are implementing signage in our practice & chair spacing is also being adjusted in waiting areas to assist with patient distancing to maintain a 1.5-metre distance between those required to attend in person for their appointments.
In all of our decision-making, policies and procedures, the safety of our patients and staff continue to come first as we are firmly dedicated to our patients, our referrers, communities and staff. If you need further assistance, you are welcome to contact us on (07) 5444 0672.
